The 40th edition of the Baloise Antwerp 10 Miles covers two race days, attracting a total of 50,000 participants. The Persil Kids Mile and Baloise Antwerp 5 Miles on Saturday take place entirely on Linkeroever. On Sunday, the programme features the classic 10-mile distance, and 40,000 runners will take the Kennedy and Waasland tunnels to Rechteroever and back. To ensure the festive weekend runs safely and smoothly for participants, supporters and residents alike, organiser Golazo has worked with the City of Antwerp, mobility partners and emergency services to draw up a targeted mobility plan.
Preparations start well before the weekend
If you want to be well-prepared, you will avoid the crowds. That is why participants have been able to collect their bib numbers from Wednesday from Frederik van Eedenplein. The organisers strongly recommend this to limit the crowds at the start zones on Saturday and Sunday.
Smart travel to Antwerp: choose your mode of transport wisely
The message for participants and supporters is clear: if possible, come on foot, by bike or by public transport. These remain the quickest options, particularly for those living in Antwerp or the surrounding suburbs. There are also convenient alternatives for those travelling from further afield. Antwerp is easily accessible by train, with frequent connections from numerous city centres and regions. On Saturday and Sunday, participants also benefit from a 40% discount on their train ticket thanks to a partnership with NMBS.
The best place to cheer on the runners is Rechteroever
For supporters, there is another important tip for Sunday: Rechteroever is the ideal spot to cheer on your favourite runner(s). Several official cheering zones offering music, entertainment and vibes are dotted along the route in the city centre:
• Thomas More Cheering Zone (Gentplaats)
• KMSKA Cheering Zone (Leopold de Waelplaats)
• TREK® Cheering Zone (Scheldestraat)
• Sporting A Cheering Zone (Kloosterstraat)
• AP Hogeschool Cheering Zone (Nassaustraat)
• University of Antwerp Cheering Zone (Oude Leeuwenrui)
Car access limited to Park & Ride
Travelling to the event in the city by car is not recommended. Motorists are advised to use one of the Park & Ride facilities along the access roads around Antwerp. The organisers emphasise that Linkeroever should be avoided by car on Sunday, unless you have a P+R ticket that has been pre-booked. Incidentally, P+R Linkeroever is fully booked. Road users are advised to follow the signs on the motorways to the nearest available Park & Ride.
