The headline distance of the 39th edition of the Baloise Antwerp 10 Miles – the actual 10 miles – is now sold out. It only took two days for the 32,000 entries to be snapped up. It’s still possible to sign up for the Baloise Antwerp Short Run and Persil Kids Run! The event on 27 April is once again expecting over 40,000 runners at the start line.
The Baloise Antwerp 10 Miles has never sold out this quickly. Last year, it somewhat unexpectedly occurred three weeks before the event, while this time just 48 hours were enough to distribute all the available entries. “We were prepared for things to move quickly this year, but we never expected it to happen this fast,” said Gert van Goolen of organiser Golazo. “We communicated the registration launch date well in advance, so those who wanted to ensure a starting berth were kept up to date.”
“The major success of April’s edition this year was definitely the best possible advertising for the next edition. Last edition’s scarcity also made people keen not to miss out this time. Over the years the Baloise Antwerp 10 Miles has grown into Flanders’ biggest running festival. No other event matches it for size or for its spectacular experience and atmosphere. Whether you are aiming for a personal best, just having a good time or being a spectator, it remains a unique experience.”
“This is also following the trend of the most recent running hype which emerged almost a year ago,” adds Greg Broekmans, Golazo’s head of running and walking events. “People are definitely running more and more. All our running events are growing in popularity and easily attract 15 to 20 percent more participants compared to last year. For example, registrations for the Sofico Gent Marathon (on 30 March) are well ahead of schedule. The inaugural European Running Championships, held next year in Brussels and Leuven, are also edging towards 20,000 registrations. At all our events we are doing everything in our power to ensure we see nothing but happy faces at the finish.”
Those who missed out on an entry, but are still hoping to take part can now join the waiting list. If entries become available again over the coming weeks, those will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. Meanwhile, running enthusiasts can still sign up for the Baloise Antwerp Short Run (6k) and Persil Kids Run (1.5k). Long distance runners can look forward to the autumn of 2025. The Antwerp Marathon & ½ Marathon takes place on Sunday 20 October, with registrations opening over the course of January.
